It is called the pilgrimage of 88 temples. Instantly I am intrigued. Reading about it, I am dying to do it. Not for the sites, not for the exercise, but for the time and the steps and for my spirit. Now a days you can take buses, trains, bikes, cars, and see all 88 temples, and out of 100 000 pilgrims that travel to see the temples every year, only about 1000 do it how it was intended, on foot. Although the trek is 1150km, so you can see why you would want to opt for the 2 week bus tour. But seriously, how can you hurry and rush a spiritual journey? There are some things you can not hurry, this is one of them. There are links for more information and I suggest if you are interested you should check them out:

Anyway, if I am to do it, it would be next year, and of course I would have to train for it, and what not. But it seems like a good thing to do.
And as more of my time in Japan slips away, there is a growing list of things I want to do and see. More and more I wonder what will happen after this. But I am getting ahead of myself. This is right now.
Blessings to you all.
