Christmas Surprise!

Just when you think everything has gone back to normal, that's when everything changes. At least for a few days. So Wednesday was suppose to be dress shopping with Evelyn at Chinook. Peter and I woke up late, and got to the madness of the mall (boxing week), at 2pm. We shopped and were suppose to meet up with Geoff and Ev at 4:15pm. We got a little bit lost in trying on things at the Gap and didn't meet up with them till around 4:30pm. I thought they would be FURIOUS (because I'm so crazy about being on time). However, instead of rushing off to go dress shopping they suggested we go for ice cream. Now this seemed weird to me, but then I thought...well Geoff and ice cream...yeah probably not so weird. So we went to marble slab got some tasty delights, sat down and were enjoying our ice cream and chat, when this guy behind us told us to keep it down. Considering we were only talking in normal volume I was pretty taken a back. He went to stand up (cause he had his back to us) and I automatically stood up too (can you say showdown). But the rude ice cream guy turned out to be my buddy Steve. I couldn't believe it, I kept blinking and shaking my head, I hadn't seen Steve since the airport when I was leaving Japan to move here. Finally I realized it was him and I burst out crying. Apparently Peter, Geoff, and Ev, were all in on this surprise. As for me, I couldn't figure out why Steve wasn't returning my e-mails. So that was my Christmas surprise. Better yet, Steve stayed with us for two nights before going back to Edmonton. So we got our drink on, and our snack on, and our chat on. We got to cruise the strip and check out all the Calgary's finest. Such good times. Anyway, thank you to Peter, Geoff, and Ev, for cooking up the surprise, for changing your own plans. I love you guys!
