Bullying
It happens everywhere, but there are some stark differences between what happens in Canada and in Japan. First of all, in Japan, it is the smart kids bullying the less intelligent ones. Second of all, when it happens, and teachers find out, everything stops. The matter is taken very seriously. The whole class is held accountable and the home room teacher not only calls parents, but has a meeting with the whole class (while regular classes are canceled), and the matter is sorted out, with everyone involved. Yep. This is definitely a side I havent seen until now, but the management of it, and the actual situation, seems like it is definitely flipped from what I am use to.
On a completely unrelated note, I was walking to work today, and on one side of the street was a mother fixing a stroller, on the other side me. It was a small street, and many cars zip through there. Anyway, a truck was coming fast down the road, and all of a sudden her child (while the mom was not looking), came teetering across the middle of the street towards me. I looked at the truck, ran, and grabbed her child, while the truck swerved and went behind me. I would like to think that the driver will drive slower through residential streets, and that the mom will actually look after her child. Regardless, I am glad I decided to walk to work today.
Speaking of work, I do need to get back to it.
exhausted!
