Co-chair and Bride's maid,
I have been asked by Evelyn to be one of her bride's maids in her and my brother's wedding in July 2006. I'm pretty stoked but at the same time I'm nervous and stressed. Nervous because it is my brother getting married, and stressed because I get to see close hand how much planning needs to be done. I have to wonder with all the plans and what not, who the wedding is actaully for, the couple, or the family?
Anyway, it is still pretty awesome to have a sister-in-law.
Okay, the other news I have is I was elected to be a co-chair of SAJETAA (Southern Alberta Japan Exchange and Teaching Association Alumni). I'm really excited about it, although I'm not sure what exactly the job entails.
The description I got was:
"2 Co-Chairs: The individuals in these positions are ultimately responsible for the administration of SAJETAA. They will have final decision-making power as the leaders of the organization, and must also be responsible for the overseeing of all activities of the group. One of these two people will share signing authority at the bank with one out-going Chair as well as the Treasure. Co-Chairs will ahve the first opportunit to represent SAJETAA to other bodies, i.e. at the National Conference (in Vancouver, 2006), or internationally."
So if anyone out there has some neat ideas of things we can do, or cool activities or fundraisers, let me know.
